Michael R. Szolosi, Sr. has represented a variety of corporate and individual clients since entering private practice in 1979, which followed ten years experience in public law / government practice.  His private practice is concentrated in the area of civil litigation and primarily involves business litigation, employment law litigation, injunction litigation, and serving as local counsel in both state and federal courts.

Civil litigation matters in which Mike Szolosi has served as counsel include the following examples:

  1. Local Counsel
    1. To a Washington, D.C. law firm in federal securities litigation that was resolved largely in 2010.
    2. To a New York law firm in federal admiralty litigation pending in the Southern District, Eastern Division of Ohio.
  2. Individual Clients
    1. Represented employees who claimed age and other types
      of discrimination against a public employer.
    2. Represented an attorney in an administrative proceeding to
      prevent his change in status by a public employer.
    3. Represented an out-of-state attorney in resolving claims
      under federal and state law by Ohio claimants.
    4. Represents six plaintiffs in state court asserting minority shareholder claims against majority shareholders. This matter also involved injunctive relief; the obtaining of discovery of electronically stored information from cell phones and personal computers; and appellate work.
    5. Class action on behalf of over 200 employees of a public employer alleging breach of contract and punitive damage claims, which resulted in a favorable settlement to the class.
    6. A variety of personal injury claims for individual clients who were either involved in motor vehicle accidents or slip and fall incidents.
  3. Corporate Clients
    1. Mike has represented an Ohio-based corporation that has operations world-wide. These matters have involved state and federal court trials involving ERISA claims, product liability claims, and negligence claims involving serious injuries.
